The front has two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, a USB4 Type-C, an SD 4.0 card reader, a 3.5 mm jack and three buttons: power, fan lighting and performance mode. The back has DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, two USB-A 2.0, a second USB4 Type-C, a 3.5 mm jack, the DC input and one 2.5 GbE port on a Realtek 8125BG. Wi-Fi 7 (MT7925) and Bluetooth 5.4 are built in.
Two M.2 2280 slots take PCIe 4.0 x4 drives of up to 8 TB each, with no SATA. The EVO-X2 has no PCIe slot and no OCuLink port, so USB4 is the only way to attach a graphics card.
The front button cycles Silent, Balanced and Performance, with 120 W sustained and 140 W peak at the top. Two CPU fans and an RGB system fan with 13 to 16 lighting and fan modes push air through three heatpipes.
Power comes from an external DC adapter rated 19.5 V at 11.8 A, about 230 W; ServeTheHome identifies it as a HuntKey brick. It plugs into a 5525 barrel jack on the back.
EVO-X2 orders placed on or after 1 October 2026 carry “1+2 years”: 1 year on the whole unit and 2 more years of replacement cover for the RAM, SSD and power adapter. Earlier orders have 1 year. The buyer pays shipping to the service location, and GMKtec takes returns within 7 days.
The GMKtec EVO-X2 measured 41 to 43 dBA during LLM inference and 37 to 38 dBA at idle in ServeTheHome’s review (11 July 2025), against a 34 dBA room floor.
ServeTheHome measured 147 to 160 W at the wall while the EVO-X2 ran Llama 3.3 70B at Q6_K, and 170 to 180 W in games. Its listed downsides were no 10 GbE, the noise and the power draw.
In Notebookcheck’s test of the two boxes with the same 395 (20 September 2025), the EVO-X2 drew 184.7 W in Prime95 and 178.1 W in Cyberpunk 2077, about 40 W more than the Framework Desktop for near-identical performance, and its fans were louder.
The GMKtec EVO-X2 is sold with 64 GB or 128 GB; 96 GB is the share of the 128 GB model’s memory you can hand to the GPU in its BIOS, leaving 32 GB for the system.

The 64 GB EVO-X2 ($2,200) holds Qwen3.8-27B (15.2 GB) with room for long prompts. DeepSeek V4 Flash (101.5 GB) and Qwen3.8-Flash-Next (106.3 GB) do not fit in it.
ServeTheHome found two presets on the 128 GB model, 64 GB each for CPU and GPU, or 32 GB for the CPU and 96 GB for the GPU; Notebookcheck’s review of the 1 TB version also lists 96 GB of VRAM. One owner review on GMKtec’s store says a BIOS and EC update was needed before the 96 GB setting and manual fan speeds worked.
The 128 GB EVO-X2 is the size for 100B-class mixture-of-experts models like DeepSeek V4 Flash: $3,500 with 1 TB, $3,649.99 with 2 TB. A third listing bundles the 2 TB model with a 3-month Z.AI coding plan for $3,699.99.
The GMKtec EVO-X2 should write DeepSeek V4 Flash at about 41.9 tok/s with drafting: our lab measured that on another box built on the same Ryzen AI MAX+ 395.
These runs differ in engine, file or prompt. Drafting speeds some prompts far more than others.

On LocalMaxxing a Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 wrote Qwen3.8-27B at 104.32 tok/s, which the 64 GB EVO-X2 holds, and Qwen3.8-Flash-Next at 51.39 tok/s, which needs the 128 GB model. Both runs had drafting on.
None of these three runs names the EVO-X2. They ran on the same chip and its 256 GB/s memory, which sets how fast a model is written; the full Strix Halo speed table has every run we track.
The GMKtec EVO-X2 costs $2,200 with 64 GB and $3,500 with 128 GB, each with a 1 TB drive and Windows 11 Pro, on GMKtec’s US store on 31 October 2026.

The GMKtec EVO-X2 costs $2,200 with 64 GB and $3,500 with 128 GB, each with a 1 TB drive, and $3,649.99 with 128 GB and 2 TB, in stock on GMKtec’s US store (31 October and 3 November 2026).
The GMKtec EVO-X2 costs $3,500 with 128 GB against $6,950 for a 128 GB DGX Spark, and their memory speeds are close, 256 and 273 GB/s. The Spark has CUDA and NVIDIA’s software and processes long prompts faster; the EVO-X2 uses ROCm or Vulkan and costs about half.
The GMKtec EVO-X2 has no PCIe slot and no OCuLink port, so a graphics card can only connect as an external GPU over one of its two USB4 ports, one on the front and one on the back. GMKtec’s newer EVO-X3 adds OCuLink for that.
The GMKtec EVO-X2 is in stock at $3,500 with 128 GB, a 1 TB drive and Windows, while the 128 GB Framework Desktop kit is $3,449 without a drive or OS and was out of stock on 31 October 2026. With the same 395 chip, Notebookcheck measured the Framework about 40 W lower and quieter, and it adds 5 GbE and a PCIe x4 slot.
